• Frank Brochin, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer

    Mr. Brochin was most recently a managing director of Warburg Pincus, where he was responsible for investments in the information technology and communications sectors.  Prior to Warburg Pincus, Mr. Brochin was a research engineer with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone in Tokyo, Japan, and, subsequently, manager of the Advanced Technology Group in Nortel Networks Japan.  Mr. Brochin has lived, worked and invested extensively in emerging markets, in particular, Asia, and served on the boards of directors of companies in the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Israel and India.  He is the former Chair of the Board of Trustees of the French-American School of New York, and holds a B.S. from the ENST Paris, France, a Ph.D. from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

  • James "Bucky" Canales, Partner

    Mr. Canales was most recently with Octane Research Inc. where during various periods he served as Chief Investment Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Head of Risk for this Switzerland-based fund of hedge funds group.  Mr. Canales previously was Chief Operating Officer of Parker Global Strategies, LLC, a Connecticut-based fund of funds and was a partner at Aletheia Research and Management, a predominantly traditional long-only manager.  Prior to entering the financial industry, he spent twenty years in various senior management roles with firms in the distribution and manufacturing sectors.  He holds a B.S. in economics from Santa Clara University.   

  • Ernest H. Pomerantz, Chairman

    Mr. Pomerantz was most recently a managing director of MESA Partners, LLC.  Previously, Mr. Pomerantz was a managing director of Warburg Pincus for 20 years, working in a range of industries including automotive, energy, financial services, retail, and media.  Prior to this, Mr. Pomerantz was a public market equities portfolio manager and securities analyst at both Warburg Pincus and Kuhn Loeb for 11 years after serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.  Mr. Pomerantz holds a B.S. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an M.A. from the London School of Economics/USC, and an M.B.A. from New York University.  He is currently a Director of Alamo Orchards, Inc., Analog Analytics, Inc., The Cobalt Group, Inc., Flashpoint Academy LLC, GEO2 Technologies Inc., Mobile Productivity, Inc., and USLNN Inc. He is also a Director of Phoenix House Foundation.

  • John Santoleri, Partner

    Mr. Santoleri was most recently a managing director of Warburg Pincus.  During his 15-year tenure at Warburg Pincus, Mr. Santoleri was responsible for investments in a broad range of industries, including business services, information technology, financial services, retail and consumer products, and real estate.  Prior to Warburg Pincus, Mr. Santoleri was a vice president of The Harlan Company, a New York–based real estate consulting firm.  He holds a B.S. in economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

  • Min Zheng, Vice President

    Ms. Zheng was most recently a senior associate at UBS Financial Services, a leading global wealth management company.  Ms. Zheng holds a B.S. in computer information systems from SUNY Stony Brook and an M.B.A. from New York University.

  • Frances W. Comey, Associate

    Ms. Comey was most recently with Owl Creek Asset Management, L.P, a global event driven hedge fund, where she served as a marketing and investor relations analyst.  Prior to Owl Creek, Ms. Comey was a paralegal in the structured products group at McDermott Will & Emery LLP.  Ms. Comey holds a B.A. in history from Princeton University.

  • Michael McGaughy, Consultant

    Mr. McGaughy was most recently the head of value and growth products at HSBC Securities in Hong Kong, where he focused on analyzing small- and mid-cap companies in Southeast Asia. Prior to HSBC he ran his own independent equity research and consulting firm, focusing on small-cap Asian stocks. McGaughy has been investing in, analyzing, and working with companies in Asia since 1989, when he entered the investment business with the Crosby Group. McGaughy holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Vermont, and has worked and lived in Singapore, Beijing, and Hong Kong.
